October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

"I expect to pass through life but once. If, therefore, there be any kindness I can show or any good thing I can do to any fellow being, let me do it now, and not defer or neglect it, as I shall not pass this way again."
Stephen Grellet, French Quaker missionary 1773-1855
Applicants for Mrs. Alexander's scholarship are asked to write an essay commenting on this quote.

Dear Gananda friends and neighbors,
Susan Alexander helped establish Gananda Dollars for Scholars in 1991. She was a respected high school guidance counselor, dedicated to helping students take their next steps toward college. Sadly, Mrs. Alexander lost her battle with breast cancer in 2007 but her legacy lives on in the Dollars for Scholars chapter and the Susan Alexander Memorial Scholarship.
This October, you can remember Mrs. Alexander during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, with a donation to Dollars for Scholars' Susan Alexander Memorial Scholarship.
Yes, I will help in continuing Mrs. Alexander's legacy!
I enclose a check for $_______________ made out to "Gananda Dollars for Scholars."
Please add it to the Susan Alexander Memorial Endowment Fund which provides an annual scholarship to students continuing their education after graduation from Gananda.
